Christmas Greetings from Europe!

We were lucky to receive lots of Christmas cards and greetings from our European partner schools in Spain, Poland and Romania.

The children in KS1 had a fabulous Christmas party with lots of fun, games and dancing. They were then treated to a very special guest visitor...

Christmas in year 2

Big thank you to Mrs Blundy and Miss Baines who have brought some Christmas sparkle to year 2. 

The KS1 Christmas Party is on Thursday and everyone is really looking forward to it. 

KS1 Nativity 2013

The KS1 production 'The Sleepy Shepherd' hit the stage at Peel Brow for 2 performances last week. The children and staff all worked incredibly hard to make the show a great success. 

Special mentions must go to Miss Burke who coordinated the nativity and made it all possible! Mrs Booth who organised and made the costumes and Miss Baines who took care of the technical stuff! (Music and PowerPoint!). Also, big thanks to parents for helping the children to learn their lines and assisting with costumes. Most importantly, a HUGE thanks to all the children who performed, sang and danced like Hollywood superstars. You were GREAT!!!

Fun Phonics!!

The children continue to work in small phonics groups each morning, working on different phonic phases. 

Mrs Mellors devised some wonderful, creative Christmas themed phonics sessions for her group. 

Christmas Cards for Europe

Last week the children in year 2 created Christmas cards to be sent to our partner schools in Spain, Romania and Poland. They enjoyed learning how to write 'Merry Christmas' in different languages.

Looking for News - Issue 2 (November)

The second edition of our collaborative European magazine is now available to view online. All children will receive their own printed copy to take home later in the week.

Peel Tower Collage

Look closely at Alfie's Peel Tower collage. It must have taken ages to create it with tiny squares of paper. The tower was made out of lots of small pictures of the tower. Great job Alfie!!!

Night Poetry

The children produced wonderful night themed poems - look out for them on display in the school hall.

Year 2 are very lucky to have Mrs Williams teaching them until Mrs Lynchey returns. :-) 

Blog updates...

Thanks to Miss Baines and Mrs Blundy who have agreed to take pictures of the class at work, homework, projects and displays, etc. in my absence. They will then send these to me at home so I can still update the blog regularly :-)
