Maths Challenges!

In year 2 we enjoy our challenge maths sessions and most children now say "maths is fun!!".

Spanish Pen Pals

The children were delighted to receive a second letter from their pen pals in Spain.

Science ~ mini-beast hunt

We explored the school grounds to look for mini-beasts in their habitats. It was a beautiful summer day! 

Dolphin Boy

In literacy session we wrote recounts of the wonderful Michael Morpurgo book 'Dolphin Boy'.

We really enjoyed acting out the story!!

Lowry Inspired Art

The children really enjoyed recreating the group Lowry picture and wanted to create their own! 

First we watched a slide show of Lowry prints then learnt more about his style of painting. We listened to 'Matchstick Cats & Dogs' and got artistic!!!

Phonics

The phase 6 phonics group have really enjoyed learning different strategies for spelling, such as analogy, compound words and particularly mnemonics!!

Polish Potato Cake!!

Lucy followed the recipe from Poland (in the last edition of our etwinning magazine) to make a potato cake! She brought it in to school to share with the class. Thank you!! :-)

Lowry - 'The Football Match'

We cut the picture into 14 pieces...then worked in pairs to copy each section using charcoal. We had fun putting them all together to recreate the Lowry print.
